Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
A step above EMT, the AEMT builds on core skills with more advanced training and capabilities. AEMTs provide both Basic and Limited Advanced Life Support, including IV/IO access, fluid resuscitation, advanced airway management, and administration of select emergency medications. This is an excellent advancement option for EMTs looking to expand their scope of practice, though some may choose to progress directly from EMT to Paramedic.
