Synopsis:

This position is responsible for the following duties:

  • Conducts inspections related to licensing of EMS providers as related to state regulations.
  • Determines the continuation or cessation of an EMS providers’ services.
  • Provides technical and consultative assistance to local agencies, officials, and personnel related to the development and improvement of EMS operations and the licensing of EMS providers.
  • Assesses the availability and quality of continuing education and training programs in assigned region.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of training required for EMS personnel.
  • Provides technical assistance to eligible candidates for the state grant fund program.
  • Attends district and regional meetings as required.
  • Serves as liaison between EMS providers and the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS).
  • Carries out directives of KBEMS.
  • Performs other administrative duties as necessary.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Professional experience in emergency medical services operations
  • Experience in conducting inspections
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of Emergency Medical Service statute and regulation.
